My list of favorite authors and their books

I recently updated my list of favorite authors, there are 22 of them that I check each time to see if they have something new out when I'm ordering books from Amazon. I'm listing one book from each one, it may be my favorite, it may just be the first or latest book I've read by them, but it's one I liked. I think I've read ever novel each of these authors has written, with a couple of exceptions (Block and Cherryh are so prolific, I have just read selected series from each). I've added a brief description of their genre, taken from Amazon's descriptions. The list is alphabetical by author.

  • Cyteen is a great book most folks who are not hardcore sci/fi fans do not know. Your list is not all that different than one I would make in the sci/fi department.

    No Dune?

Have you read Friedman's "In Conquest Born?"

    Good stuff.

    Love the old Clancy too.

    Great stuff.

  • Thanks for the comment, Jennifer. I really liked your site. I found it in the weblog awards balloting.

I left off Hebert because, being dead, he's not one I watch for new stuff from ;-). I haven't read anything by Friedman, I'm going to add it to my Wish List right now.
