Books
It's been almost a perfect storm with my favorite authors. I've put in a huge order at Amazon.com, and I've already received most of them. You can see what I've already read here. In particular, "Thirteen" and "A Killer's Kiss" have been superb.
Favorite authors with new books:
Andrew Vachss - Terminal
China Mieville - Un Lun Dun
Orson Scott Card - A War of Gifts
Peter F. Hamilton - The Dreaming Void
Martin Cruz Smith - Stalin's Ghost
Michael Connelly - The Outlook
Richard Morgan - Thirteen
William Gibson - Spook Country
William Lashner - A Killer's Kiss
John C. Wright - Titans of Chaos
Honorable mention:
Michael Chabon - The Yiddish Policeman's Union
Michael Lewis - The Blind Side
Charles Stross and Michael Lewis have officially moved up from "Honorable Mention" to my favorites list. And Stephen White (Kill Me) and John Burdett (Bangkok 8) are going to the favorites as well.
I check my favorites list for new releases every time I make an order on Amazon.com, and I order their latest as soon as it is released. I usually won't buy a book until it comes out in paperback, except for the authors on my list, but now the list is getting pretty long, and hard cover books are so expensive, I may reconsider.

On page 277 of "Stalin's" Ghost by Martin Cruz Smith there is the paragraph:
One evening was devoted to Pushkin. It was a salon. Everyone brought in their favorite verse. Very artsy. I brought Pushkin's diary. It had all the women he shagged in intimate detail. The man could write.
We are the publishers of this "Pushkin's diary" that is "Secret Journal 1836-1837"
