Changing Jobs (Again)

I gave notice at El Paso today, I'm going to go back to Enbridge and the old job I left six short months ago. Enbridge had been the only company I had worked for since I matriculated that I haven't returned to work for, and now I am returning. I think I might have a slight case of prodigal son syndrome, but it's really not so much the welcome-back parties as the going-away parties that I really enjoy (I'm not all that fond of fatted-calf). Why would I leave a job I just left for another job I just left? Well, if I said it's not about the money then you'd know it's about the money. It's about the money! I cashed my sweet three-figure bonus check two weeks ago (can you say crunk, for reals?), and the talks with Enbridge started anew. The money was good, but when they came across with even more vacation than before (I had forty days, or eight weeks, and they're adding three more weeks) and a four-tens schedule telecommute (with a company car, to boot), I couldn't say no. They even let me come up with my own title, "Chief Corrosion Executive Officer."

It will be hard to say goodbye to all the friends I've made at El Paso over the years, especially the ones I said goodbye to two years ago too, but it will be nice to be reunited with all the friends I'd made at Enbridge, especially the ones I said goodbye to just six months ago. My transition will be official today, April 1st.

See here for more info.
