Vegas, Baby!

I just got back from Las Vegas, I went for a couple of days. Lots of fun. I'm taking the rest of the week off to finish up my taxes and take care of some things around the house.

WHiVSiV, baby!

Site Changes

Well, I shut down the nancyboyz.com site. It's had a nice run, but there was no need to maintain another site. I'll lose the email addresses, but I'll save about $11/month in hosting fees. I'll also get a lot less spam, since that site regularly gets harvested by the scum-eating spammers. I combined the pages into this site, click on the Fantasy Football tab, and you'll see the site in its entirety. I deleted the old Fantasy Football page, and the KFFL page was essentially the same on both sites, so I kept the one from here, but added the logo.

I had the day off today, for Good Friday, and I intended to push out the new combined blog and front page, but I ran out of time.

Site(s) of the Day

Check out these extremely cool internet animation sites:

Homestar Runner

Odd Todd

Weebls Stuff

For most of these, you have to be able to turn up the volume, so they're probably not best for work.

Best Blackjack by Frank Scoblete

In preparation for my Las Vegas trip. Results: I didn't play a hand of blackjack.

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Las Vegas by Rick Garman

A little outdated, I bought this in 1999, but still somewhat helpful.

The Tyranny of the Louis

Our book club met last week (Thursdays are our traditional night) and in discussing the meal, I jokingly referred to the tyranny of Louis, since he expects even non-coffee drinkers to supply their guests with the addictive beverage. Coffee drinking is a nasty habit if I've ever seen one. I mean, sure you may think it looks cool to drink coffee, all your friends are visiting the Starbucks, and that it makes you look older, or wiser, but it stains your teeth, makes your breath smell, and kissing a coffee drinker is like licking coffee grounds. Did you know that if you take one sip of coffee you're putting over 2000 different kinds of hazardous chemicals in their body? That's true. I got it from a site, but sorry I don't remember the address.

Anyway, Louis also pointed out my negligence in updating my site, specifically the Books section ("I love reading about the books you read a year ago") and also the "Quiz of the Day", which was a bad idea. If I can't even update my blog daily, I certainly can't update the link on my home page daily. But, as I mentioned before, I plan to combine the blog with the home page, and do some changes to the Books page so that I can updated it as easily as posting to my blog.

By the way, if you don't use Blogger, you should. It's great. They were bought by Google a year ago or so.

If you want to take a quiz, try here. Or here, for a PG-13 rated quiz (possibly NSFW).
