Name of the Beast

We played at Second Baptist again this Sunday, and we found a drummer. It went great, there were about 60 people in the Bible class. Now we just need a name for our band. Tony J. suggested:

"God Awful"

I suggested:

"Holy Crap"

UPDATE: Another suggestion,

"Plague of Boils"

I think we may go with:

Joyful Noise

UPDATE: this name is already taken by an inter-collegiate Christian a cappella band.


By the way, the name of my previous band, Dangermouse, made a list of the Worst Band Names of All Times on the Internet. So I've got that going for me.

New Band

I got together on Sunday with some folks at Second Baptist and played as a band. It's a contemporary bible study class for thirtysomethings called The Next 30 Years. We practiced Thursday and Saturday, and played four songs on Sunday. There's a piano, guitar, and bass, along with about six singers. We're looking for a drummer, if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

It was pretty cool playing again, it's been almost four years since I last played (for Mike's bachelor party in November of 2001). By the way, I'd like to have a copy of any pictures anyone has of that or other Dangermouse gigs.

What I'm Reading Now

I started adding the picture of the book to the What I'm Reading and the What I'm Reading For Book Club, this was the first one I did:

It's nice to get a visual on the book. I've been selecting the version of the book that I'm reading, if I forked out for the hardcover, I'll show that version. I get the pictures from Amazon, and then I have to do some editing to get rid of the "Search Inside" arrow and the whitespace.

Why is that SNL skit with BOC so memorable? If I hear one more person say "more cowbell" they are going to get some more cowbell.
