who is drew?

Well, that’s a pretty deep philosophical question.  But one of the subconscious reasons for developing this site is to try to answer that question.

high school

I graduated from Klein High School in Spring, TX in 1981.  You would think that at my age that wouldn’t really be pertinent anymore, but most of my friends that I have now went to Klein as well.  Here’s my senior yearbook picture, and here is a picture of my entire senior class.

family

I have two brothers, both younger, Eric (Rick) and Aaron, both younger, and a sister, Kira, who is the youngest of our family.  We recently got together and took a family portrait as a gift for my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary.

check out my blog

I added some new features on my website, including a blog (a "web log" or a web page made up of usually short, frequently updated posts that are arranged chronologically—like a what's new page or a journal).  The blog is now part of my home page, you can check out the latest here.  The technology is extremely cool, I just go to a web page and type in some stuff, and then it publishes it to the internet in my own format.  I originally planned to try to post every day, but I couldn’t keep up with it, and there just wasn’t enough to post.  Now I’m using it as a “What’s New” type deal, semi-autobiographical.

pranks

I like to play pranks, not practical jokes, which result in someone getting hurt or feeling stupid, but fun pranks.  Here are some work pranks I’ve played at the office.

traditions

I guess I kind of like structure, so I tend to have a lot of routines.  When other people are involved, I can call them traditions.  I go skiing every spring with a group of friends, and we try to go to a different spot every year.  Here’s where we’ve been so far:

2008 – Park City, Utah

2007 – Banff/Lake Louise (Alberta, Canada)

2006 – no trip

2005 – Winter Park Colorado/Sun Valley, Idaho

2004 – Aspen/Snow Mass, Colorado

2003 – Big Sky, Montana

2002 – Whistler/Blackcomb (British Columbia, Canada)

2001 – Park City, Utah

2000 – Steamboat Springs, Colorado

In another tradition I go to an NFL game every year with another group of friends.  We take turns making the selection.  Here is a page describing the football weekend tradition.  Here’s where we’ve been so far:

2008 – TBA, Todd’s selection

2007 – Patriots vs. Bills in Buffalo (Sunday night)

2006 – Redskins vs. Buccaneers in Tampa

2005 – Vikings vs. Packers in Green Bay on Monday night (Drew’s selection)

2004 – Panthers vs. Broncos in Denver

2003 – Buccaneers vs. Forty-niners in San Francisco

2002 – Jaguars vs. Titans in Nashville

2001 – Vikings vs. Saints in New Orleans
