photography

One of the biggest parts of a web page is the images.  A really cool site that illustrates that is Rob Cockingham’s cockeyed.com, subtitled “Always bring your camera”.  I have a digital camera, and I’m in the market for another one.  I have a Nikon Coolpix 700 that I bought in 1998.  It was a compromise at that time, 2 megapixel (very large at the time) but no optical zoom.  It’s been a good camera, but it’s a little too bulky to carry around all the time, and it’s not quite good enough quality to be my only camera.  It doesn’t do video or audio.  My new cell phone has a camera built in, a 1.2 megapixel with 15 second video recording capability, it will be interesting to see if I can take more pictures, since I should always have a camera with me.

Here are some pictures I’ve taken.

aspens and pines

This was taken on a ski lift near Albuquerque, New Mexico in October, 1999.

The aspens had turned, and the contrast with the evergreens was very cool.

supersize

We had a meeting in Albuquerque when the balloon festival was going on, and we went out

early one morning to watch them take off.  This picture was taken right at dawn.

live bait

On a trip to South Dakota to visit the relatives, we spied this machine at a gas station.

I had to have a picture; Kira is modeling the latest in fishing apparel.
